How Digital Interference Impacted Moldova’s Elections

📍 Online 🗓️ Thursday, 11 December 2025

🕔 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM CEST

Hybrid interference and digital manipulation are shaping Moldova’s 2025 parliamentary elections. The Moldova Parliamentary Elections | Forensic Analysis report examined more than 5,000 posts across Telegram, TikTok, Facebook, X, VK, and YouTube, uncovering coordinated narratives reaching millions.

In this webinar, report authors Andra-Lucia Martinescu and Marius Dima (PROMPT EU consortium) and investigative journalist Biro Attila (OCCRP / Context.ro) will outline how cross-platform networks amplified political messaging, targeted diaspora voters, and reshaped the information environment, offering practical insights for campaigns, platforms, and policymakers.

Missed our Last Discussion on the 2026 U.S. Midterms? Here are 5 Takeaways.

Thank you for joining yesterday's Political Tech Preview! 💡

Here's what stood out in our webinar on the 2026 U.S. Midterms :

  1. Digital tools, voter files, and dashboards only matter if they are tightly coupled to a clear theory of change and decision process. Campaigns should start from a few core strategic questions (who are we persuading, mobilising, or segmenting; on which issues; in which geographies) and then design data work backwards from that, instead of buying tools first and hoping strategy will follow.

  1. Door‑knocking, social, email, ads, and press can no longer operate as silos with separate lists and KPIs. Teams that share a single view of target audiences and coordinate scripts, creatives, and follow‑up sequences extract much more value from each contact and learn faster what actually shifts voters.

  1. Professionals should treat every outreach channel as an experiment pipeline where performance data quickly feeds into message testing, creative iteration, and resource reallocation. This requires lightweight experimentation habits (A/Bs, small pilots, rapid debriefs) and norms for actually acting on insights, rather than letting analytics sit in weekly slide decks.

  1. Prepare for a permanently “weird” information environment — Disinformation, fragmented platforms, and fast‑moving narratives are now baseline conditions, not exceptions. Investing in monitoring, rapid‑response capacity, and pre‑bunking narratives, but also in resilient supporter relationships so campaigns are not entirely dependent on volatile algorithms.

  1. The limiting factor is less “having the right tool” and more whether organisations can hire, empower, and retain people who understand both politics and technology. Professionals are urged to create cross‑functional teams, reduce internal turf wars over data and lists, and invest in shared standards and training so knowledge survives beyond a single cycle or vendor.
